DJ-The China story is-I think-very important to follow....My impression is we may see a "multi-disease pandemic" starting there ????

Since "old school" pandemic ideas go for one major disease going global=pandemic a multi-disease pandemic (because of decrease of immunity after CoViD)  may be "not in pandemic protocols"???

DJ, The reason why most (recent) pandemics gave respitory symptoms is because that is how the virus got into the host-aerosol spread...air borne...

The "black death" was spread by fleas biting their host...so the bacterium got into the blood.

Most viruses can create damage in lots of places in the host...

< aria-expanded="false" aria-haspopup="menu" aria-label="More" role="" ="-175oi2r r-1777fci r-bt1l66 r-bztko3 r-lrvibr r-1loqt21 r-1ny4l3l" -testid="caret" ="" style="text-align: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-family: inherit; align-items: stretch; border-width: 0px; border-style: solid; border-color: black; display: flex; flex-basis: auto; flex-direction: column; flex-shrink: 0; list-style: none; margin: 0px; min-height: 20px; min-width: 0px; padding: 0px; : relative; : 0; overflow: ; justify-: center; cursor: pointer; outline-style: none; user-: none;">
Let me say it louder for the people in the back: Stop touching wild birds. Stop bringing them inside. This is exactly how pandemics start.

DJ, I did see videos of people holding a sick bird close...because it is their-dying-pet...There is nothing wrong with loving your pet-(cat, bird...) but if it is very ill because of an infectious disease be aware of the risks !!!

Eye protection, good masks, gloves...That sick animal is high risk and may kill you...

Replying to
Worryingly, the data suggests that the number of children with Long Covid is steadily increasing with each passing month… …from 84k in December 2023 to over 111k in March 2024! It’s risen by A THIRD in just 3 months.

DJ, Long CoViD is part of the "new pandemic"...My non-expert view is a "mega mix" of other diseases-on top of CoViD-will become the "new pandemic".

"Mysterious diseases" in Africa (mix of poverty, CoViD and malaria...) and China HMPV/H3N3 ? lots of others may indicate the kind of "multi disease pandemic" we may expect.

"Old Style" pandemic views seem to mainly focus on ONE major disease...Even with the H1N1 "Spanish Flu" that view was not correct; a lot of people dying from bacterial infections ON TOP of H1N1 (as far as we now know)...

Very likely most historic pandemics may have been a multi-disease outbreak. With one disease-maybe with limited symptoms-opening up for other diseases...

And backgrounds matter. A bad harvest in history increased epidemic risks..wars turned those regional problems in widespread disease...Roman, Middle Ages "pandemics" most were European problems...however often with African/Asian links..

Since 1492 Europe started exporting diseases to the Americas-killing most of the people that arrived there before Europeans showed up...

⚠️ BREAKING: Experts Warn of 11 Threats for Pandemic 2025, Including Disease X and COVID-2.0 Disease X is an unknown infection with the potential to become the next major pandemic. It is one of 11 high-risk diseases that doctors are most concerned about in the coming year.

DJ, "Disease X" may be a disease in a very small group of hosts-via coinfection/decrease of immunity able to jump into humans almost "from out of nowhere". Since we very likely have NO immunity against it it may go for "exponential-exponential spread" (R0=10+ ?).

If such an outbreak were to occur suddenly, the world would likely be caught off guard, much like the global shock caused by the coronavirus. Dr. Head warns that Disease X, an unknown bug, could spread quickly and have a high mortality rate, similar to COVID-19.

DJ, and that may be a "very optimistic look"...(impossible link..new post)

Pandemic 2025 fears as 11 diseases docs most worried about revealed- including Disease X, Covid 2.0

Disease X is the name given to an as-yet-unknown infection that has the potential to become the next big pandemic. It was among 11 dangerous diseases that doctors are most worried about for the year ahead

The ominously named Disease X could potentially trigger the next major pandemic, a medical expert has cautioned, while also expressing concern that the world is ill-prepared for a sudden surge in cases.

Disease X - essentially a placeholder name for an unidentified infection - was listed among 11 other perilous diseases that have doctors on high alert for the upcoming year. Measles, cholera, scabies, bird flu, and even another Covid outbreak were also included in the scientific community's list of most dreaded infections for 2025.

The World Health Organization (WHO) had previously classified unknown pathogens as Disease X, including it in its priority list of diseases requiring urgent research. Most recently, it claimed at least 31 lives - predominantly children - in the Panzi region of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

-

According to Dr Michael Head, Senior Research Fellow in Global Health at the University of Southampton, Disease X is one of the infections most likely to result in serious outbreaks, possibly even escalating to a pandemic. If such an outbreak were to occur suddenly, the world would likely be caught off guard, much like the global shock caused by the coronavirus.

Disease X

Disease X isn't exactly a specific illness think of it as more of a placeholder for any yet-undiscovered sickness. Despite not being pinpointed, the threat of some mysterious virus or bacterial menace is quite concrete, and boffins have been nudging governments to gear up for any curveballs from Mother Nature.

DJ...please "leave mother nature" out of it...we are doing it to ourselves...The way "we" live is very destructive...at the end SELF-destructive !

(part 2)

"Disease X is the name given to an as-yet-unknown bug, that has the potential to cause large outbreaks or even a pandemic," Dr. Head confided to the Mirror. "This bug would have the potential to spread quickly and have a high mortality rate; for example like COVID-19."

"The world was caught flat-footed by the most recent pandemic, and even with our fancy tech upgrades, such as mRNA vaccine platforms and other medical marvels, we're still at risk of being caught off-guard if Disease X appeared out of the blue."

Symptoms: It's anybody's guess! They could run the gamut depending on what this future germ is made of. We could be talking coughs or wheezing if its airborne. But if it's some sort of bacterial bogeyman, expect something along the lines of tummy troubles.

-
DJ, the article then lists a number of known diseases...

Antimicrobial-resistant bacteria

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued a warning about the rising number of antibiotic-resistant infections in the UK, echoing the World Health Organization's (WHO) statement that antimicrobial resistance is one of the most significant global health threats. Antimicrobials, which include antibiotics, antivirals, and antifungals, are typically used to treat infectious diseases.

However, scientists have raised concerns that these infections are becoming more resistant to these medications as they evolve to defend against them.

According to the UKHSA, individuals who contract a bacterial infection that is resistant to antibiotics have a higher likelihood of dying within 30 days. Professor Hunter expressed that bacteria resistant to antimicrobials pose a "significant concern" looking ahead to 2025.

E. coli, which often results in diarrhoea, vomiting, and urinary tract infections, is the most prevalent type of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in the UK.

By mid-2024, the UK reported over 600 cases of this bacteria, a significant increase compared to previous years.

In November, UKHSA Chief Executive, Professor Dame Jenny Harries, stated: "Increasingly the first antibiotics that patients receive aren't effective at tackling their infections. That's not just an inconvenience it means they are at greater risk of developing a severe infection and sepsis. Our declining ability to treat and prevent infections is having an increasing impact, particularly on our poorest communities."

Symptoms: Who knows?

It could include anything dependent on its biological make-up. If it were a respiratory virus, it could cause coughs or difficulty breathing.

But if it were a bacterial infection, it might cause more stomach bug-like symptoms.

DJ, YES Dengue, cholera, chikunguya, CoViD, measles, "bird-flu" also are risks...certainly when they all would come together...(The Congo/DRC story in fact was a poverty+ co-infection story).

DJ-A lot of "popular media" go for "fear porn"...this Mirror-US story at least has some realism...The fact it is getting published may underline the present-very high-risk !

It is NOT (only) H5N1 !!! Not only a US story..!

This isn’t 'advice' time. This is ‘report it now’ time. Healthy one minute, dead the next? Wake up.

DJ, Worries over the Human MetaPneumo-Virus cases in China are growing...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chlorpromazine#History or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chlorpromazine#History could STOP that disease ?

We developed similar nasal spray in Thailand with efficacy and approved and available in any drug store since late 2022 , probably more than 100000 people already used it

DJ, My impression; The main problem with non-western medication may be they are non-western...so profits do NOT go to western companies...Big Pharma is not a charity...it is going for max profits-buying the "best" politicians they can buy...

Mortality for Post COVID Condition: 2025 Update 🔥Interesting preprint article demonstrating again that many post-covid-19 deaths are likely missed! You need to connect the dots to correctly code! ➡️As of the end of December 2024, a cumulative number of 2,653 US deaths were classified with the ICD-10 U09.9 code for “post COVID” as the primary cause of death, corresponding to an age-adjusted mortality rate of 0.089 (95% CI, 0.085–0.092)×100,000 population. ➡️Mortality was significantly higher among males ➡️An age-dependent trend was evident, when analyzed on a logarithmic scale, the relationship between crude death rate and age appeared nearly linear. ➡️"The distribution of post COVID condition deaths by place of death: - Most deaths occurred at the decedent’s home (33.0%), - followed by nursing homes or long-term care facilities (26.3%), - medical facilities (as inpatients; 24.1%), and hospice facilities (7.7%)." ➡️"As of the end of 2024, over 2,600 US deaths have been classified under the ICD-10 U09.9 code, representing a critical yet likely underestimated aspect of the long-term impact of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic." ➡️"The results of our analysis highlight the significant yet complex impact of post COVID condition on mortality. Although the absolute number of deaths remains relatively low compared to acute COVID-19 fatalities, the observed patterns reveal critical areas for targeted intervention and resource allocation." ➡️"Addressing the identified disparities and gaps in care will enable healthcare systems to more effectively manage the ongoing burden of post COVID condition and improve outcomes for affected individuals." More than 50% of post-C19 Death’s occurred outside of hospitals, what isn’t exceptional, but in the broader context, does further open the door for misclassification and underestimating real numbers. Striking are also already the incoming numbers in young patients!!!! file:///C:/Users/conta/Downloads/preprints202501.0224.v1.pdf

DJ, neo-liberalism is going for max profits NOT public interests...A problem is in many "democracies" ALL of politics are neo-liberal...Different faces-same policies...

🪟 Open windows when possible to allow fresh air to circulate. 🤧 Cover coughs and sneezes with a bent elbow or a tissue. Dispose of the used tissue in a closed bin. 😷 If you are in a crowded or poorly ventilated area, wear a mask to help you #StaySafe from respiratory illnesses. 👐 Clean your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 40-60 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. #HealthyHolidays

DJ, try to avoid travel/transport...Problem is we have been in a global -recognized- healthcrisis since 2020..."Politics" is "in control of the news-NOT the facts" and making matters worse...
