DJ, The war news is terrible...Over a million Lebanese refugees....maybe up to two million people who believed they had a future/live in USrael may have left the country...
We are moving towards a high risk of possible nuclear war... ------- H5N1 in cats, tigers....Mpox in Hong Kong...is it clade 1b ? NL moving into another CoViD wave... --------- "Helene" may have killed hundreds of people...more hurricanes expected with 2024 already at #10 in most damage costs due to Atlantic hurricanes... Possible hurricane strength storms may reach western Europe-keeps showing up in models... -------- I try to keep informed-but balanced...

If I would make a top 3 of major global risks;
-1 by far is war....We have never been this close to all out nuclear war.... -2 Climate collapse, "Helene" was a shocker...a hurricane was not expected to move that fast in land...New-worse-storms are on their way...NW Europe very likely to see "Kirk" next week... -3 Pandemics..."out of control"...so we give up testing...Reported cases of H5N1, Mpox, Marburg etc only a top of an ever growing ice-berg... Of course these global disasters interact with each other...Are not isolated events. Economic/financial collapse, a break up of logistics/supplies (in part because of strikes, US, France, NL, Germany...)... Social unrest in many countries-may result in civil war like crises...(US, France...). DJ-I do understand why I am the only one active on this -supposed to be- a forum. "It is a doom & gloom show"...not nice at all... I have to balance myself-love music...Of course looking at history we may have seen "terrible times" even in the recent past...Famines in 1945-1947 Europe may have killed over a million people-after World War Two horrors killing tens of millions more... The Korean War-1950-53, was just one of many bloodbaths following World War Two-global rebalancing... From that perspective most people in the west have had exceptionable "good decades"-from a history perspective very abnormal... Untill around 1900 wars and diseases did slow down human population growth...Average age did take milennia from moving from 30-Roman times- to 40 around 1900... The population explosion is a 20th century event... "Good things never last"....

-Wars; "USrael" may be facing limits in escalation...Both the US and Russia will -for different reasons- NOT accept an USrael attack on Iran... In Lebanon US bombers bomb...killing thousends...The USrael proxy is "limited" in its invasion. Suffering heavy losses in an exhausted "army".... UKraine is in slow collapse..."joining NATO/EU" will be empty words...UKraine "recovery" may cost trillions-the west can not afford such investments... US elections will change both -avoidable, criminal, biden made- wars...However the damage to international relations is very large... ------- -Climate; "Milton" may become a hurricane -going over SE-US...soon. Some of the areas hit hard by "Helene" may see another strong storm the coming week... Europe is preparing for "Kirk"...It is expected to reach Europe wednesday/thursday -october 9-10...Still uncertain how strong it will be, amount of rain, direction... DJ-My view; NW Europe is able to deal with "limited storms" and quite a lot of rain...Maybe even better than most of the US may be...However "hurricane like storms" are "rare"... The peak of the storm may hit the most populated areas in the evening/night... Good part; In other day-time storms a lot of deaths were in traffic... Lots of countries see CoViD numbers go up...some new variants may bring more disease...Flu will increase as well...So "Flu-Rona" is expected to increase... H5N1 in the US and SE Asia a "major problem"...(with very likely lots of human H5N1 infections missed-also in other regions...Europa may miss/not test human H5N1...)

DJ, trying to get a basic idea of where we are going...maybe a "Deathly Potential Index" may be of use ?
-CoViD restarted and mixed with lots of other diseases could result in an excess death -worldwide- of 1 billion+ ???? by 2030 ? -Climate collapse and pandemics severely limiting food production. H5N1 in cattle, BTV in European sheep/cattle...Grain/vegetables growth in flooded areas, by storms, destroyed ? Part of the corn/grain meant to feed farm animals. If that kind of food goes up in price then it will push up meat/dairy prices even further... -Of course maniacs like netanyahu, zelenski are encouraged by biden, rutte (now head of NATO-former NL-PM) to "go nuclear".... Strikes "deep inside Russia" will go for Russian nuclear installations... US-rael wants to destroy Iran nuclear installations (may be up to 400 meters under the ground...) So "will we get an October-surprise" in the form of nuclear war ? "To keep trump out"... DJ-Of course main-stream-media still may claim trump is a Putin-puppet...MSM also following UKraine/USrael lies...Western "free press" is part of the war machine... The same "media/journalists-for-sale" downplaying climate/pandemic disasters... But still-we are almost in mid-october...This year has 78 days to go....I hope to be "over-pessimistic"....Would love to be wrong !
