Most of Europe has tax paid healthcare...hardly anyone goes bankrupt due to medical costs-in the US 1 million households go bankrupt each year because of medical costs....

I often visit the US and GDP doesn't mean much. People earn a lot there, that's true, but life is also much more expensive, there are 0 social safety nets, employee rights do not exist, healthcare costs are bizarrely high (childbirth costs between 10,000 and 30,000 dollars, no joke), health insurance is very expensive, especially if you work part time, almost all food is stuffed to the last gram with preservatives (often banned in the EU) to keep the 'shelf life' as long as possible, people die earlier, retire later, have a a handful of vacation days a year, they can only be sick a handful of days a year otherwise they can be fired, there is enormous income inequality and I could go on and on. 

Europe may be a bit too strict, but the US still remains the Wild West when it comes to regulation, which makes it easier to earn a lot of money, but the lack of a safety net and regulation also means that income inequality is enormous. Bottom line, it seems nice that the GDP is so nice and high, but prosperity only belongs to a limited group of people and the rest are allowed to suffocate.

DJ...Ignoring neo-nazi's in UKraine is WRONG !!!! I try to understand WHY people (from the west)  join neo-nazi's, IS etc. but do not ignore it....(or like it...)

Independent journalism in the west is attacked by politics and "media"...."Presstistution-journalism/news for sale" is a new normal....
