   So...it can get a lot worse ! Even without becoming a nuclear "World War Three" (or if you include 1618-1648, 1795-1815 global wars-World War Five)...we may see a lot of escalations...
In UKraine daily UKraine "fighters" (untrained -so NOT a soldier !) killed/badly wounded may be over 2,000. USrael is killing hundreds of Palestinians per day in Gaza/West bank...

Both wars are NATO proxy wars...with NATO losing both...

How to get out of it ? 

US "POTUS" Obama did see Russia had "escalation dominance" in UKraine...VPOTUS-joe biden-however went for family investments in UKraine, Afghanistan...in many ways Europe is in a US (made) war...

The US most likely did blow up the Nordstream German-Russian pipelines...so the EU had to buy US energy...Weakening the EU-getting the US stronger...(was the idea). 

Europe-the EU-has to BREAK with the US ! 

European interests and US (UK) interests no longer are the same...

zelenski/netanyahu stay in power because of US support...Europe ends up paying a very high price for keeping the US #1/saving the US$....

Russia is NOT against Ukraine joining the EU...however for now Ukraine is bankrupt...another burden for the EU...The US is pushing the EU to "start talks" with UKraine...further destroying Europe...

Who needs an enemy if "the US is your friend" ? (Or in kissingers words;
“It may be dangerous to be America's enemy, but to be America's friend is fatal.”

Russia GDP-PPP now did become larger than that of both Germany and Japan...
(GDP-PPP 2024 World Bank; #1-China, #2-US, #3-India, #4-Russia, #5-Japan...The "RIC" of B-RIC-S+ is in the top 5 of GDP-PPP). 

The Dutch -via Nieuw Nederland/Nieuw Amsterdam- may have played a major role in US "Yankee" (my view "Janneke" -British nickname for the Dutch living in US colony before 1776 US)history. 

But we have to get out of these escalations of over a 1.000 year old conflicts !
