With its unique position straddling two continents and its growing influence across both regions, Türkiye has emerged as a pivotal player in the Middle East, holding a central role in shaping the region’s future—unless Syria's reconstruction is ceded entirely to Ankara, a move that could significantly alter the regional balance of power. More in my forthcoming article.

Israel is systematically destroying homes in southern Lebanon, targeting communities along the border during the cessation of hostilities. Families are left watching their homes reduced to rubble, their memories and livelihoods erased.

The reasons for this devastation remain unclear—whether it is to increase the burden of rebuilding, to pressure people into turning against the resistance, to deliver a harsh message to southerners, or simply as an exercise of power mixed with a sadic pleasure.

These actions echo similar practices seen in Gaza, particularly in the north, where destruction left neighborhoods unrecognizable. Entire villages in southern Lebanon are reportedly being bulldozed, erasing not just homes but entire histories, reshaping the land to confuse its identity and sever its ties to the past.

107 years ago Britain gave Palestine away to the Zionist movement. It had no right. And the UK establishment has not stopped torturing the Palestinians ever since, up to and including participating in the ongoing Gaza genocide. Shameful beyond words.

Just so we’re all clear, it is a fully established fact that the IDF is *deliberately* killing civilians in Gaza. There was a time in the early days of the genocide when this could be disputed, but that is no longer true. The facts are in and the case is closed. It’s happening.

This is a cemetery. You can see the graves and headstones with names inscribed on them. Calling this a "mass grave" of 100,000 killed by the Assad regime is a gargantuan lie.

DJ, It is also part of the NATO-nazi lies to distract from NATO backed crimes...From sabotaging an UKraine-Russian deal in 2022 to USrael killing Arabs...

Again-stopping USrael crimes means war with the US and NATO...so a "long term strategy" is needed. Even when hundreds of thousends are killed...

DJ, In Germany-Magdeburg a 50 y/o doctor from Saudi background-however in Germany since 2006, supposed to have become anti-Islam, supporting AfD killing people with a rented car on a christmas market ????

By the way-elon musk (South African/Canadian roots) now supporting AfD in Germany...while part of the AfD agenda is more going for national/european interests...So I wonder if AfD welcomes open support from Musk/US...

It underlines the western chaos...In Germany "going for renewable energy" is now blamed for the economic crisis...Strange...because Germany is not doing that good in renewables...Closing nuclear plants was decided for after Fukushima...

In NL-other countries-increase in salaries/trade unions are blamed for the economy problems...

The sanctions on Russia, Iran etc. disaster is "kept out of the news"...because ALL main parties/ "media" keeps pushing for even increasing sanctions...Denying the reality that Russia/BRICS+ is getting stronger-NOT weaker...
--
In some parts of the globe a healthcrisis is getting "worse" further increasing economy problems..."the pandemic is over-living with the virus" turned out to be another lie...

Climate disasters indicate global temperatures 2C+...but "politics" play games with baselines/10 year average...

The general western psychosis is "politicians realy believe their words can change reality"-when reality is showing "politics lost contact with planet Earth...".

To put it in other words...biden was terrible-trump will be maybe even worse...In the UK the "uni-party" rules-maybe faces change...Dutch mark rutte-now NATO "leader" shows he can go for genocide with a smile...
-----
Putin may be willing to have some talks with trump...It does NOT mean trust is restored...

ATACMS, storm shadows, scalp missiles on Russian targets were answered by Russia attacking Kiev command centers killing very likely NATO staff. So now UKraine used himars on a Russian school etc.

UKraine nazi's-backed by NATO-see Russians as sub-humans...killing them is a goal...Russia does see UKraine as a fellow nation-with Belarus-part of the "Russian family"...

There is no doubt the west is supporting IS, jihadi's in Syria, Iraq etc. like USrael crazy mass murderers...The Neo-colonial Atlantic Terrorist Organization has terrorism as a main weapon.

NATO is also "good" in "PR"-propaganda via embedded media like bbc, cnn, nos...USrael war started october 7 2023, UKraine conflict started february 2022...The west supporting USrael apartheid, NATO expansion "is unrelated" in that story...

DJ-UKraine, USrael are collapsing-NOT winning ! Still "the west" does not want to see it...
With that BRICS+ may face a west still going for global dominance and telling the rest of the world what to do...There is NO basis for any deals...

A "frozen war" may be the best possible scenario...

Did the Spanish flu help end WW1?
No one can doubt that the influenza pandemic shortened The War. After four years of fighting Germany was running out of men, food, and money and was becoming politically unstable.

Worl War 1 ended november 11-1918...H1N1-"Spanish" Flu must have done a lot of damage, bring a lot of alarm...Ending concentration of soldiers would reduce spread of flu...However;

Q: Is it true to say that the Spanish Flu ended WW1?

No. The 1918 influenza pandemic - the “Spanish Flu” - did not end World War 1.

First, it was the first year of the pandemic so the armies weren’t really that hurt by it (yet). The war, on the other hand, was 4 years old. That was more exhausting than even a pandemic.

The United Kingdom, including colonies, lost 744,000 to combat. France lost 1,150,000 to combat alone. Germany lost 1,800,000 to combat. The numbers for other nations were also staggering.

Second, the effects of the United States army were finally being felt along the battle front. I’m not saying the U.S. involvement ‘saved the day’ by any stretch. It did, however, allow France and Britain to shorten their lines some. The flu killed about 45,000 American soldiers while combat deaths were about 54,402. That’s less than 100,000 total with about 4 million in uniform.

Third, the German “1918 Spring Offensive” had retaken ground they had lost in 1916 and 1917 but at a great cost. They suffered heavy casualties for land that had little strategic value and was hard to defend.

The Allied “Hundred Days Offensive” hit the Germans all along the Western Front as a response starting in August. Ludendorff called the first day of this attack as “the black day of the German Army.

The Hindenburg Line broke in the center where the French Army attacked. The American Army attacked in the south as the Spanish Flu’s second wave was just getting started in the states. The reinforced British Army with experienced troops from the Middle East.

The Germans were in retreat throughout October 1918. The Spanish Flu did hit the armies - on both sides - but it didn’t stop operations.

Fourth, the second wave of the Spanish Flu hit in September about 5 to 6 weeks after the Hundred Days Campaign had already started… and was having the desired effect.

The armies, however, had enough men to put in the field so it didn’t help but it did not end the war.

It certainly was one reason for the truce to be enacted. All the armies involved had many troops sick from it. Of course there were other and probably more predominant reasons such as the US 16 Divisions that in a short time pushed the German Army more then 30 miles from positions they had occupied for years back to the German border at Metz. No doubt that was a predominant reason for the Germans to request a truce. Also, the other allies made pushes at that time. The others were the Germans lacked food and they had terrible shortages of all other commodities. A side point that I found interesting was the US Army allowed troops that wished to visit there hereditary countries in Europe to do so for up to six months as long as they got themselves back to New York for discharge. Of course it was at their own expense. My father took advantages of this benefit and visited my grandfathers farm which he had left to his sister when he immigrated to NYC in 1890. I believe one reason for this benefit was to cut back on the number of troops that had to be transported home in a short time during 1919.

DJ, Answering the question is complex. "Planning" hospital capacity may have been alarming both sides...However-not all knew how bad H1N1 turned out to be...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_flu#/media/File:Spanish_flu_death_chart.png or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_flu#/media/File:Spanish_flu_death_chart.png

May indicate october 1918 did see a peak in cases/deaths...

"A virus" stopping a world war may have been an unwelcome story...however it came ON TOP of Germany/Austria-Hungary slowly running out of supplies/support..

German war crimes (a.o. in Belgium)  did increase support on the Allied side.
------
Health issues are a major part in most wars...In lots of wars diseases killed more people than the fighting did.

For USrael lots of deaths in Gaza may become a risk also for their war criminals...

UNITED NATIONS, December 21. /TASS/. Russia’s response to the latest Ukrainian crime will not keep itself waiting, Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said, commenting on Friday’s missile attack on the town of Rylsk in the bordering Russian region of Kursk.

"Our response to this deliberate criminal attack on Russian civilians will come shortly," the diplomat warned as he denounced the attack as yet another unambiguous step by the Kiev regime toward escalation.

Six people, including a child, were killed in the attack and 10 others were hospitalized.

The Russian Investigative Committee is investigating the attack as an act of terrorism.

🇷🇺 Ukrainian Kamikaze Drones Strike Kazan Residential Complex A squadron of Ukrainian “Lyuty” drones targeted the Lazurnye Nebesa residential complex in Kazan. Two drones struck the building, one narrowly missed, and a fourth was intercepted by air defense. The complex houses no military or strategic targets—it’s a mixed-use building with apartments, a beauty salon, and a kindergarten. Despite this, it was attacked four times. These strikes are seen as desperate acts, wasting resources on civilian targets instead of military objectives. Analysts suggest the Kiev regime aims to escalate the conflict, banking on terror bombings to make negotiations impossible and limit future diplomatic solutions.

At least 20 Israeli settlers have sustained injuries after a ballistic missile launched from Yemen struck the central part of the Israeli-occupied territories, as Yemeni Armed Forces continue their operations in support of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Ha'aretz newspaper quoted the emergency teams of the Zionist regime as saying that 20 injured in the attack early Saturday had been transferred to the Wolfson Medical Center in the Tel Aviv district city of Holon and the Ichilov hospital.

Footage from the site showed a crater where the missile had impacted.

-

The missile launch triggered sirens to sound throughout the central sector of the occupied lands at 3:44 a.m. local time (0144 GMT), sending millions rushing to shelters from their beds, according to Israeli media outlets.

The Israeli military said its “attempted interceptions did not succeed.” It stated that the details of the incident were being investigated.

Videos on social media showed the moment of impact and the failed interceptions.

Footage also showed exploded windows and debris in several surrounding apartments, apparently as a result of the shockwave.

The latest missile attack from Yemen came only two days after Yemeni forces conducted a successful military operation against two “strategic” military sites in Tel Aviv, using ballistic missiles.

Spokesman for Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, said in a statement on Thursday that the country’s missile units carried out a targeted military operation, striking two Israeli sensitive military sites in Tel Aviv with two Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missiles.

Shortly afterwards, Israeli warplanes carried out intense airstrikes against the Haziz and Dhahban power stations near the Yemeni capital Sana’a, as well as the Hudaydah port and Ras Isa oil terminal along the Arab country’s western coast.

Fourteen fighter jets, alongside refuelers and spy planes, flew some 2,000 kilometers and dropped over 60 munitions on targets inside Yemen, the Israeli army said at the time.

Halsema calls on cabinet after Rutte's alarming speech: “Come with instructions if necessary”

The mayor calls on the State that if there is indeed an additional threat of war or a cyber attack, to come up with clear instructions. In The Conversation with the Mayor, Halsema responded to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte's warning to mentally prepare for war. “For now, I would say to Churchill: keep calm and carry on,” says Halsema

Last week, in his new role as NATO chief executive, Rutte said that civilians should mentally prepare for war. In the same week, banks said: pin cash for long-term failures due to, for example, a cyber attack or internet failure.

Halsema also noticed that it was the talk of the town in her environment. “I also heard children who were concerned after these noises. I then tell them: there is no reason for acute anxiety or worry at the moment. I assume that, if there is reason, our government, will take action. This is currently not the case. We all need to stay calm.”

The mayor was amazed at Rutte's speech: “Because it actually had no consequences for the behavior of the government and citizens. I thought it was more like an appeal to the national government than to citizens. People do experience it as a direct call to them.”

She continues: “Rutte believes that defense should be put in order and that more money should be invested. That is also part of his job to call for this. At the moment, there are no indications - not even in our city - that we are under threat. However, we must remain realistic: there is no reason to hoard and no reason for unrest. I do assume - and I also make that appeal to the national government - that if there are consequences and should be associated with such a call, clear instructions from the national government will follow

.”

The signals didn't do much to Halsema, she says. “I'm fairly calm about it and I'm a different generation than you, even then. I'm the generation that remembers that shelters had to be built because of nuclear bombs, especially during the Cold War. At that time, there were also many signs of wars that could break out. I can imagine that for your generation, this is scary and new. Of course, you're also seeing major international shifts: the events in Syria, the rest of the Middle East, China, Taiwan, Russia and Ukraine. There is a lot going on internationally. We have no new threat level for this city and no signs. For now, I would say to Churchill: keep calm and carry on.”

Cyber attacks

Halsema acknowledges that Amsterdam can potentially be a target of cyber attacks. “But it's always hard to prepare for what you don't know. We are preparing for that as well as possible. This is also being considered in the Safety Region. A few years ago, we were also confronted with an epidemic that we had not created before. Then we also saw that the Safety Region came into force and all kinds of measures were taken. Of course, we can raid and that can lead to short periods of unrest, but we are well prepared.”

And: “Of course, I can't say with my heart that Amsterdam is shock-proof, because you don't know what the challenges of the future will be. What I can say is: we will prepare ourselves if tensions increase and we are thinking carefully about new attacks such as cyberattacks, which we are not really aware of from the past.” In the Safety Region, scenarios are being looked at “continuously”, says the mayor

.

More and more people are stocking up on an emergency kit, including, for example, a battery-powered radio, flashlight, water or long-life food. Halsema: “No, I did that myself. I don't think it's necessary for myself. I don't judge people who did. Once again: I assume that if there are concrete threats to our country or city, the national government will come up with instructions.”

DJ, Putting the above posts in one story;

Pandemics have been a major part in how wars develop...weather another factor-so climate collapse will be a growing item...For the present NATO wars in Eastern Europe/West Asia both climate and pandemics may further limit NATO  war capacity...

Public support may be hard to create...Most western leaders are hated. Very likely Russia/China may do better in organizing public support...A "free press" showing to be propaganda may do worse then "just propaganda"...but the impression a government may be working in the interest of most of its citizens...

A biden goal for escalation is to leave trump starting in chaos...
-
Both the wars and pandemics could and should have been prevented..."politics" repeating the same mistakes with other people/faces is creating a growing distrust.

What is the point of having democracy when you end up with the same politics-more or less...

Economic decrease, jobloss, increase of chronic healthissues-poverty all undermine the west...

So western leaders go for escalation-hoping BRICS+ will over-react/break up...So far without success...However Russia will react (direct and indirect-Yemen ?) to NATO attacks on civilian targets inside Russia.

More NATO centers will be hit inside UKraine-because without NATO there would not be this war...

In Syria the US was surprised by a Turkish offensive in Syria-via proxies. The chaos in Syria ends up "Syrian opposition groups"-killing eachother...with Russia, Iran, Türkiye ready to intervene...maybe even return Assad...

Further US/NATO escalations may result in more wars in Latin America, Africa, EurAsia...

By Elijah J. Magnier

The fall of Bashar al-Assad and the swift rise of Ahmad al-Sharaa, also known as Abu Muhammad al-Joulani, as Syria’s new de facto leader marks a seismic shift in the Middle East’s geopolitical landscape. Turkey’s pivotal role in orchestrating and capitalizing on this power transition has cemented its status as a dominant regional powerhouse. U.S. President-elect Donald Trump recently acknowledged Ankara’s strategic triumph, albeit with criticism, stating that “Turkey made an unfriendly move by taking over Syria.” His remarks inadvertently highlight Turkey’s calculated and meticulously executed coup, which succeeded where others had failed.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is reportedly planning a visit to Damascus, fulfilling a promise he made over a decade ago in 2011. At the height of Syria’s conflict, Erdogan vowed to pray at the Umayyad Mosque, symbolizing his vision of a post-Assad Syria aligned with Turkey’s strategic interests. This visit, expected in the coming weeks, marks a significant political and symbolic gesture, underscoring Ankara’s growing influence in Syria following the fall of Bashar al-Assad.

The move would not only reaffirm Erdogan’s role in shaping Syria’s future but also serve as a powerful message to the region about Turkey’s ascendancy as a dominant actor in the post-conflict Middle East. The visit to the Umayyad Mosque—a revered religious and cultural landmark—would further cement Turkey’s leadership role in guiding Syria’s reconstruction and governance under the new leadership of Ahmad al-Sharaa.

Turkey’s success stands in stark contrast to the collective efforts of numerous countries that expended hundreds of billions of dollars and 13 years attempting to overthrow Assad during Syria’s protracted conflict. Two primary operational rooms—one based in Jordan and the other in Turkey—were established to orchestrate the anti-Assad campaign. These initiatives facilitated the influx of tens of thousands of foreign jihadists from the Middle East, Asia, and Arab nations into Syria. Despite this massive mobilisation of resources and manpower, the international coalition failed to achieve its objectives, instead leaving behind a staggering toll of human casualties and a deeply fractured Syrian state.

The conflict has wrought devastation on Syria’s social fabric and infrastructure, creating ripple effects that extend to neighbouring countries. Reconstruction costs are now estimated to range between $500 billion and $900 billion, a monumental sum that underscores the scale of destruction. However, with little prospect of attracting the necessary international funding, Syria faces a grim future, mired in economic stagnation and struggling to recover. The absence of committed financial backers willing to invest in the reconstruction of the Levant further compounds the region’s challenges, leaving Syria trapped in a cycle of instability and hardship.

Ankara, however, adopted a more calculated and strategic approach, exercising patience and

DJ..rest of article behind paywall...However it underlines the US "has a problem" in the Middle East...BRICS has the money to rebuild the Middle East...

The present phase however is a "clean up" -my view/words; Western backed rebels/terrorists etc. killing eachother...

Of course in "western media" "the rebels won"...ignoring the fact there are dozens of gangs fighting eachother...

Pepe Escobar: Putin Drops BOMBSHELL, Russia’s Shocking Move in Syria REVEALED

DJ, Pepe Escobar with a "non-western realism" on Syria. Russia-Iran-Türkiye made a deal...Quite likely Russia told USrael where to destroy weapon storages to avoid them falling into "rebel hands"...

Russia also talking with those rebels...Putin had a telephone talk with netanyahu...

< aria-expanded="false" aria-haspopup="menu" aria-label="More" role="" ="-175oi2r r-1777fci r-bt1l66 r-bztko3 r-lrvibr r-1loqt21 r-1ny4l3l" -testid="caret" ="" style="text-align: inherit; font-size: inherit; font-family: inherit; align-items: stretch; border-width: 0px; border-style: solid; border-color: black; display: flex; flex-basis: auto; flex-direction: column; flex-shrink: 0; list-style: none; margin: 0px; min-height: 20px; min-width: 0px; padding: 0px; : relative; : 0; overflow: ; justify-: center; cursor: pointer; outline-style: none; user-: none;">
Yemen bombed Israel in support of Gaza, and the US and UK bombed Yemen in support of Israel. A US F-18 fighter jet was also shot down by 'friendly fire' near the Yemeni coast. Israel, the US and the UK cannot deter Yemen.

DJ, my view; "the west" is becoming less and less a factor of meaning...Putin may be willing to talk with trump...but very likely does not take the west serious in sticking to ANY deal...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUKqZ7qQqJw  or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUKqZ7qQqJw The Duran;

NATO and Ukraine military desperation

DJ, UKraine/NATO planning another offensive...for what ? Already the UKraine "fighters" are overstretched by far...

DJ-my view; One reason NOT to mobilize 18-25 y/o is to avoid an uprising in UKraine...In the past there were reports of armed resistance inside UKraine...zelenski/NATO by now must be hated by a lot of UKraine people...This war was avoidable...there is NO NEED !!!! for NATO to move east ! Western mining companies could steel lithium, etc without UKraine being in NATO/EU...

The Duran also mentions the major role the UK seems to play in UKraine...the Kursk-invasion reminds me of "A bridge to far/Market Garden-september 1944 "Battle of Arnhem"...Only then it had more chance of success...

The Kursk attack by UKraine/NATO may indicate how bad NATO intel on the strength of Russia is...Inventing North Korean (even Yemen)  forces shows western "intel" may be from phantasy land...

part 2,

Is Russia increasing its offensives to "have a good position when trump becomes POTUS"?

DJ-NO...a main reason may be simply-because they can...UKraine "fighters" (a lot of them may not have had much training-so "soldier" may not be the correct term) are "running out". New mobilization did not bring in many new "fighters"...POW/KIA/WIA increasing-a lot of people supposed to "die for zelenski/NATO" may hide...

The duran mentioning a "gambling addiction"..."maybe next time we win"...DJ-Not only for zelenski, also "casino-capitalism west" keep gambling...Unable to analyze anything...
--
YES-The "west" did create/support "Syrian rebels"...YES-Russia-Iran-Türkiye used those western backed rebels to kill eachother...While the "west" claims to have defeated Assad...

Pepe Escobar mentioning Assad in Russia may return to Syria..Western chaos in Syria may be a matter of months...

DJ-I did see the mourning over Magdeburg-Germany-a car-terror-attack killing 5 people...Of course such a terror act is sad...The former Saudi 50 y/o doctor may have used a route for medical services to get into the market...

The west however keeps supporting global terrorism...Most Arab kingdoms may be more dictator-style then Assad in Syria was...However "the west" did not care...It only becomes an issue when countries like Saudi Arabia joins BRICS+, makes deals with Iran (even joined navy drills Saudi-Iran...)

In january Russia and Iran in Moscow will sign a mutual defense pact...Also underlining "f..k the west"....China, India are "not happy" with trump going for US protectionism-however they can not be surprised...

Russia, Iran refused fighting a war in Syria...sparing their strenght for the conflicts they do want to fight...Türkiye will kick out the "thousends" of US/NATO military from Syria...even with Türkiye still in NATO...Iraq "clean up" is next...

Maybe an outcome of the Putin-netanyahu phonecall was USrael NOT moving into Lebanon...

Erdogan-Türkiye claiming there are at present two major leaders, Erdogan and Putin...both EurAsian countries...

The bigger picture; Western sanctions/wars made BRICS+ stronger not weaker...discover alternatives for "the west"...But also opening the eyes for western neo-colonial history of exploitation and genocide...The "rest" of the world may be better of without the west...However the "west" needs "the rest"...

End of part 2-maybe later part 3...
